Judas - A Disciple Becomes a Traitor

•One of “the twelve” (Mark 3:16-21)

•Mk 4:10-11 – given secret of kingdom

•Lk 8:1 – heard Jesus preach

•Lk 9:12 – witnessed miracles

•Mt 10:1 – authority over unclean spirits; heal diseases

•Mt 10:5 – sent out on the “limited commission”

•Jn 12:5-6 – treasurer for the group

•No evidence of betrayal at beginning

•Lk 6:16 “Judas Iscariot, who became a traitor.”

Lk 22:3 “Then Satan entered into Judas called Iscariot

•It’s not how you start, it’s how you finish

•Mere exposure is not enough

•The reward for betrayal will leave you empty
